I would love you to come and do my back yard please... for ten years I strugled myself to make a garden out of rubble and darn street tree roots that made their way to my back yard, I've spent all my saving on buying soil, shrubs trees flowers and what not? Why? because I was told by SAHT that I can buy the home I'm renting, now 10 years later with bad back and arthritis through out my body I sit outside and cry, did I do a good job? why? whish I did better to relax in the back yard I slaved on so hard...
I would love for you guys to come and do your thing in my backyard please! My partner and I don't have any life threatning ilnesses nor do anyone in our families. We are not the next Australian of the year, nor have we gone through any out of the ordiary hardships. I am a member in the Air Force and have been for 11 years. My partner works in the health industry for a mining company. We are your average run of the mil first home buyers of middle class Australia wishing for you to give us a little leg up in the landscaping department. Please help us improve our home and help us enjoy our first real investment in life. We are long time fans of your show and would really appriceate everything magical touch.
hi i would like some one to take my ponytails taken out of my front yard they are over the gutters i would like them to go to a yard that is being done up for a person or persons who has done a good deed by the team
Well we are not a disadvantaged family but would really llike to have my back yard made over . We have been married for 24 years and have seven children together we have been living in mandurah wa for about 10 years now and have a first home house Which is really quite small but needs a bit of help in the yard and the shed. My husband works away and i do my best in dealing with the gardens but I think it needs help to make it a little easier to deal with.
Absolutely love your show and the wonderful gardens you create for people giving them so much pleasure, but living in a rural area I notice that you mainly do makeovers in the city. I would like to challenge you to do some gardens in rural areas. We have a cattle farm and have been in desperate drought for several years, my husband is forced to find work off farm to pay the bills and I have a big work load with running the farm & feeding the stock leaving no time to do my much loved hobby of gardening, my garden is in desperate need of some help and if my backyard had a bit more order to it, it would make it so much easier to look after. We love oudoor living in summer but at the moment the garden is not very inviting at all........ I do realise that there are other people out there that have had unfortunate things happen to them or others that have done good deeds and they would benefit from a garden makeover more so, but please consider doing some rural areas for your show ....... somewhere..........away from the city.......... Thank you, Marleen
Janet Lake. Hello everyone. I have contacted you people to see if you could help some dear friends of mine. They had the misfortune of losing everything they own in a house fire on Tuesday 20th July at 4 am in the morning. They are in their mid to late 60's and they both have health problems. I was just devastating to see their life going up in smoke and there was nothing we could do. They are both on pensions and they really have very little. They have house and contents insurance but they are underinsured so to have their home demolished and the block cleared is going to cost them a lot which comes out of their insurance and I am worried they won't have enough to put a house back on the block and fully furnish it plus do the outside area the way they had it. They are the sort of people that would share their last meal with you and help you out any way they can even if it means going without themseves. They are very humble, caring and thoughtfuly people and I would love them to receive some sort of help. I really hope you can help in some way. Thankyou.

Hello, my dad is suffering from a very rare disease called CDPI. Due to this disease he is not able to work very much as his job is very physical. Due to my dad being the main income earner for our family of 6 it is making it very hard for us to survive. My dad began to do up the back yard before he became ill, but due to his illness he is unable to finish it. It would be my dads dream come true to be able to finish the back yard. I would love to be able to make this come true for him, because through out his life he has given so much to all the people around him. I just want to be able to give something back to him as a thank you from everyone. Could you please let me know how I am able to nominate him? Thanks Sophie
Hi there, I need help...help with my backyard. My partner and I have two kids and would like to have a child friendly backyard for the kids to run around in and also a place for us to relax. How do I go about getting you guys out or even some handy tips on what to do. Thanks Busy Mum
Hey Guys, I am a resident on the Princes Hwy- one of the busiest freeways. I love my house but my driveway is causing me alot of problem it is so narrow that is get fits my car. i have two beautiful young kids and what we face on a daily basis i cant even put in words. i have to reverse my car every day just so we can get out as its a main road but even worse is getting in. i have a wait by the nearest street for a clear road to reverse into my driveway- in the process of entering the main road car are speeding around the corner that therefore means i have to drive 4min around the block and try my luck again and again and again. its so frustrating when you have two kids in the car screaming there lungs out. i have even been booked by council for staying in the left lane waiting for traffic to ease just so i can get in. I dont know how to put this but i am begging for help. i dont want to take someone elses place that needs it more then me but i do watch your show and know that at least once a year someone just the chance to win- hope that can be me. i barely have friends over as they have to park there car two street down and alot of them dont want to walk with kids on the main road. My 4 year old son starts preschool next year and the only thing on my mind is getting in and out for the driveway. I never win anything but winning this well be a dream come true. Thank you
I just wanted to add to this comment, she is my sister in law and is writing on behalf of me, my mother and father who have to park 2 streets down just to come and see and take care of there grand kids. There home really is old so there is alot of maintance inside the house with little money left after paying the mortgage, but the backyard is sitting on 500 square metres there is so so much potential and so much that could be done. Its just land with nothing on it. I know this is very challenging as it on a main road with no access but i can say the team you will have a field day in this back yard. Please consider them as financially they wont be able to do anything about it for a long long time and what they face on a daily basis with two kids just getting in and out of there tiny garage which is on the main road and there house is all the way at the back is challenging. Then they can concentrate on the inside of there home. They don't want to sell cos this is there first home. Please Just Please consider them. We will cook you Breakfast lunch and dinner. Just check it out and i know you wont be able to refuse. We are all hoping to hear from the team.
Hello from Cambridge, England! My dear friend Sue has just moved from Mandurah to Pinjarra and her garden is a disaster area. I know because we skype almost daily and I have had a tour of her garden by laptop! We are both almost 63 and have been friends fior over 50 years. She is just great and still working as a nurse in care of the aged. She is getting aged herself and aa bit knackered at the end of her shifts!! so not much time to fix up the back yard - it looks worse than mine! I came to Oz last year and loved it (Oz - not the garden - she hadn't moved then)- I will love Oz and the Aussies even more if that is possible if you can fix up Sue's back yard. I might even pray for you to get the ashes back! from Sheila - yes, that is my real name! and Burke is my surname - remember the explorer. Now how can you refuse me with a name like mine?!! In hope Mrs Sheila Burke
Hi My name is Dennice, I live in Waroona W.A., we have always beens avid gardeners, but since i was diagnosed with FYBROMYALGIA, Ii never get out into the garden, it has just gone to pieces, and we have the terrible soil that repells the water, even though we do use oour grey water, my husbamd is trying his best but it is too much, as he works long hrs and then comes home to work inside, i see him getting so tired and growing ol before my eyes, and in a way i find guilty because im so sick, i have always loved yr show and would love to give my husband the backyard that is easy to maintan but is somewhere we can go and sit together as this has not happened for a very long time,I luv him to pieces and would just like something to go right for us as we have had so much stress in our lives the last 5 years or more, I watch yr show and they always seem to be over in the other side of Australia, and not a sleepy little town like Waroona, it would be a big wish if there ever was such a thing that i could have a backyard make over, hoping u will consider us, you all are so wonderful with what you all do, and if im not picked, i still love yr show and will continue wo watch it with lots of ideas i one day might happen to us, regards and best wishes to all the team Dennice
Hi everyone I am contacting you in desperation. I don't even have the words to explain as I am emotional even writing this. I have 2 wonderful parents who have a beautiful home in Adelaide South Australia. They are extremely generous people and do what they can to help everyone out, quite often neglecting themselves. They have been trying to do their back yard which is not that big for the last 20 years, but due to finances and time they have been unsuccessful. They had my sister, her husband and their 2 small children move in with them 8 years ago, which was only supposed to be for 12 months until they got themselves back on track but are still there so mum doesn't get much time to get out into the garden. I love my parents so so much and I hate seeing them this way coz I know they feel like they just can't do it anymore. If you could help out I would be eternally grateful.
Hi Backyard Blitz. We are your average Family of four, but seem to struggle maintaining our backyard. My husband works long hours and is away 3- 7 days a week. He also referee's soccer on Saturday's, which leaves little time to work on the backyard. We have an extremely large Pine tree, which is out of control and a Gum tree that loves to shed. All our other trees just simply make a mess and it is even worse when we have high winds. We have a large backyard which looks like an unattended park....I hate letting my children play outside as i feel it's unsafe. We don't have the kind of money to spend on our backyard so occasionally pay someone little money to clean it up. I know that you have more deserving family's to attend to, however would greatly appreciate it if you would consider us. Kind Regards S.Kortikis, West Wollongong NSW.
hey how r u all my girlfriends mother has a garden and it is shocking i am just wondering if u people could come fix it and she is starting to build a shed and it has been started and not finished and i am trying my best to help out but i am on a tight budget and i no what she wants done and if u could help me do it i will much appreciate the help and i am a huge fan Kind Regards L.Griffith, Salt Ash NSW
HI I am a member of a fabulous choir! You might wonder what that has to do with Backyard Blitz. Well the organizer and teacher is a woman of hugh integrity and the most caring of people. She has 2 children of her own a husband (separated) with a servere mental illness. Her husband has recently been released from jail where he was sent for destroying the neighbours house with a bobcat and then setting himself on fire, during a meltdown brought on by his illness. That was just the icing on the cake. This illness has been evident for the last 11years and as well as causing overwelming emotiional abuse problems for the whole family it has also caused hugh financial problems. Currently the debt she has been left with is greater than the value of the property. The property which was supposed to be their dream renovation home has been left in disrepair and completely unfinished and of course there is no money to employ tradesmen. I go back to what has this to do with a choir. This lady with all her problems has found the love to nuture so many people. We have people with ongoing illness. Those who are recovering from Cancer. Men and Wpmen whose marriages have broken down. Widowers and widows. People with hearing problems. A gentlemen who has Parkinson's and is improveing his speech with each lesson. It doesn't matter if you can sing well or not your still welcome and she will endevour to bring out the best in you. The ages range from the late 20's to the late 70's. Please can you help this lady. She is so deserving. I know you don't come to WA very often but please make an exception. Lynne Ferguson.
Hi there, I can see there are some very sad but inspiring stories on here. While I dont have any stories I do have a very daunting yard to create. I have recently built a house with my boyfriend on an area that used to be a dam. So you can imagine how we are just surrounded by clay, clay and more clay. It is built up on a slope so the back yard consists of two levels where a wall will need to be constructed. I want a classic but warm and inviting yardm however I have no idea where to start and would love any suggestions you may have? Thanks!
Hello :) I know you have so many people asking but here i go anyways! we have bought this new home which we were lucky to get but the most hugest downfall is there is a house whose back door is above our fence line and therefore there pergola is looking right into our backyard! we hope that with your fabulous experience that you need a challenge like ours! amy and family! :)
Hi Jamie and team, good job you're doing and blessed. I would like to ask you too if you could do my daughter's backyard, she's just bought a house in Launceston, i know, maybe you're not stretching that far. It needs a lot of work but if you can help them with the backyard, i can help you with anything, chip in, i don't have much money but i can help if you need. My daughter and her family moved to Tassie and bought the house, they are young, i know they can do but i would love for them to be happy that at least something is done while they're young and my granddaughter (she's 5) can play in a nice backyard. I don't know what else to say, like i said maybe you're not even going there ever, but i had to ask. Anyway God bless you for the help and happiness you're giving people and know this that God is going to give you hundred times more what you give to others.carmen
There must be so many people need help and not enough available but backyard blitz helps to bridge the gap, so many deserving cases, what a dilema! I will just put my case forward and hope for the best. My daughter is legally blind and has a beautiful 2 year old little boy (I am biased of course!). Her partner and baby's father was just getting ready to prepare the backyard for him to play in safely for the summer, including a veggie garden which the local nurse suggested to assist future generations to eat more healthy, when he had a motor bike accident. His arm is 'out of action' and we need some support to get this garden up and running to enable a safe environment for mum and baby to spend time in.
Rose Hi, firstly I would like to say I think it's wonderful what your team does for people. Its is not about the money or the enormous amount of work that goes into what you do, it is the ongoing pleasure that people receive from what you do. It affects their lives on many levels. Your show has help me restore my faith in humanity and its great that you can do this for people you do not even know. My backyard is quite small, probably the smallest you have ever seen (16m x 3m). I used to enjoy taking care of it but suffering panic disorder, I have little energy left to put in any effort. My husband provides in every way possible but keen garden he isn't. I know he would love to provide me with a special place to meditate and find peace in but he just doesn't have the time. It makes him feel really down. Our Japanese Spitz puppy has now taken over the weeds. I know there are people more worthy than us, so here goes, fingers crossed.
Hi Guys, Not asking you to build it for me (though wouldn't say no) but I need to build a deck (similar to one Rob built on BH&G about 5-6m squared) in my garden and am wondering if it's possible to do on your own. I want to ask for help but my husband is not interested and I'm worried about workplace insurance etc if I get a friend to help and they get injured. Any thoughts? Know this is a bit left field, but hey.
If only we could duplicate you all to provide your assistance and great taste to more of the people. We are a recenlty wed couple who bought an ex housing commision 2 bedroom home. Its located on a very busy street and the garden, I mean barren desert called the front yard is just a pile of dirt. We can't leave the front door open due to the dust and was looking for a solution which would make the front and back space more user friendly, especially now since we are trying for a family.
Help We don’t want charity. We NEED help. How much for a makeover inside and out????? I am Bipolar, my daughter has ... and my son has Autism. My husband works on the mines just out of town and we can pay for things to be done, we just cant decide what to do. Our home is looking extremely........tired. It desperately needs painting and new curtains throughout. My son has outgrown his room and needs the spare room done up for him. My daughters room is well worn and needs redecorating. We can’t even decide on a new lounge and the old one, well I couldn’t give it away it is in such a mess. We currently have it covered with old curtains as throwovers to hide the embarrassment of it. The back yard is full of half finished projects we thought were good ideas at the time. Even the roof is mouldy and needs attention.
... my daughter has .... I don't know why that didn't type up but that is what she has.
Hi, my name is Nicola. My mum was just forced to resign from her job as a lawyer and we are in a lot of financial trouble at the moment We keep having to postpone selling our house until mum gets a job again. We have been living in our house for 7 years and have tried numerous times to fix our garden. I know my mum really wants a nice garden and she deserves one. She has worked incredibly hard all her life and she couldnt be anymore stressed right now. Please open your hearts to a little girl worried about her parents. Please how can I sign up ? Nicola Ray
Hi My name is Kristy . I know a family in great need of garden renovation. The family Two young girls and there father have just lost there mum and wife. At 46 years old to Parkinsons disease and dementia which she was diagnosed with no more than 6yrs ago. The husband gave up work and became his wifes full time carer and the kids also helped alot to keep there mum at home. There has been no time too keep up with gardening and even if time permitted the family could not afford to fix up the garden. It is in great need of makeover. Please Help.
Hi all, big fan of the show! And boy do I have a challenge for you. My name is Alison, I am a young business owner and have recently bought my first apartment in North Sydney. This is no ordinary apartment, the balcony is 64sq m. I want to transform my city dwelling into a garden retreat. Somewhere I can relax, escape and of course ENTERTAIN! The vibe in my apartment that I am trying to create is very much a NYC meets whisky den, type of atmosphere. I certainly want a garden that reflects my style, but that also lets you feel like you could be anywhere in the world. I think an issue that a lot of people face, especially living close to sydney CBD, is how to make your apartment feel like a home. And having a garden space, regardless of the size, I think, is crucial to this. Right now my giant balcony is a pebblecrete mess, with views of beige brick walls. Its in dire need of a makeover, both aesthetically and practically (there is a lot of noise i'd love to block out, which Im sure a well-placed hedge or something could easily do). Of course I should add, Im no greenthumb so am at your mercy!
Hi thankyou for the opportunity to post this message. I am asking for some help for my sister who is 36 and just been diagnosed with breast cancer. We lost our mum to this aweful disease almost 20yrs ago, cruelly at the same age. my sisters run of bad luck continues as she underwent emergency ivf to preserve embryos for her and her husband, but after harvesting a record 9 eggs none fertilized. My sister has a small backyard that is a work in progress and desperately needs a little grass so she can buy a dog to her make her upcoming battle, more bearable. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards Kerrie
Hi, My name is Bridget O'Sullivan and I am writing to you as a plea for you to fix my garden! My mum is a single mum of five kids, and ever since my dad passed away a few years ago our garden has become a complete mess because mum just doesn't have the time to look after it. We live in a big green house that is not very appealing to the eye, and our garden is just a mess. It can only be described as a jungle surrounded by a two metre high fence that looks like one you would see at a prison. My family are all basketball players so we have a slab of cement and a hoop to play on, but that is about it. However I do think it has some potential, so I was wondering if there is anything you could do? It would mean the world to my family, as we have been through quite a lot with dad passing away. My mum is such an amazing woman and there is nothing we could ever do to repay her for everything she has done for us, but with fathers day approaching I was trying to think of something we could do to help her and I thought of the garden and how dad used to spend a lot of time fixing it. I haven't told her I'm emailing you because I want it to be a surprise... that's if you even say yes (I know the chances are slim) But please consider us. It would mean so much! Thank you for your time!
hi there everybody my name is jessica senini i come form a town called kinglake . How would you treat a narrow walkway towards the entrance of a place? The walkway is between two tall brick walls. One wall which is the whole length of the house has the gas pipe running through the wall to the entrance. Although I painted the wall to cover up the pipe but it is really an eyesore. The walk way is just 1 metre wide and with steps and approximately 15 metres long - the length of the house. In short the entrance is at the side of the house. I think I can challenge the backyard Blitz with this. This walkway is leading towards the backyard.
Dear Backyard Blits, My name is ruby I am 10 and I would love you to come and do my backyard because we have a farm in goulburn my dad spends most of his time in goulburn we are growing hazelnuts and my dad was recently in hospital with athritis in his back he can not lift anything heavy and so this means he can not do are garden I am asking you with all my hopes and dreams that you will come and help me with my garden my dad would be over the moon and finally can rest he has done so much for me I want to give him something back that he will enjoy so much!! Hi my name is Craig and my partner and I just bought our first house under a year ago and we really would like to get the front and backyard blitzed. We are lost for what to do and I would like to ask her to marry me in our very own backyard or front yard but I would like it to look good first. I know there are many other people out there more deserving of this than myself but I would have asked her to marry me when we moved in but I didnt have a ring back then.
