Do you really think a bank will lend a person money to purchase a pub these days if they dont have pokies in them? As i said before, people are not forced to play them.

Ugh the term 'un-Australian' is so flippantly thrown around these days, who really knows what it even means?

As for them having bad attitudes because of the state the pub was in when they took over - isnt that the whole point of the exercise? If the pub were running smoothly and rolling in it what would be the point of the show in the first place. I think they took over a project without clearly thinking about the hard work involved. It was never going to be a piece of cake so why be so disappointed. I think they're in over their heads and cant cope.

As for the pokies, welll what a utterly ridiculous comment. NSW does NOT need any more pokies in its pubs, and saying that an establishment will fail without them I find disagreeable. Many pubs can survive without those dreaded machines - just watch!

The messgae Airds 73 is trying to say that if you cant tell the difference between the beer that yourself brews you shouldnt be brewing in the first place. It should have its own unique taste. Im with you on this one airds73. Lexi deserves everything she got. As for them failing that is so un-australian, if the pub was in good order when they purchased it they wouldnt have to have the attitudes they have.Anyone that wants to make money in a pub needs to have pokies if you dont like them you are not forced to play them. Keep up the great work Dave and Luke

Whether or not this program was going to air, the publicans at the George seem to have a knack for driving away some of the pub's previously loyal and happy customers.

If they behaved better and had no problems or dramas, the project would be dull and boring and not worth watching. It is obviously publicity seeking on their part and a not very good attempt by Lifestyle to produce locally, a type of reality?????? show the Brits have been doing so well. I am all for Australian content on an Australian tv channel, but why not do something with wider interest like Bargain Hunt, Property ladder and Grand Designs.
I watched a few episodes of "Pub" but found it just plain annoying.

What do you get when you cross a mummies boy with a daddy's boy?

A poorly run Pub whose publicans have no respect for the patrons that have been drinking at the George for years!!!

I'm a young chick and have been visiting this pub off and on for about 5 years and I have found the service over the past 18 months absolutley appalling. The atmosphere isn't the same anymore and I won't be going there again.

The publicans need to shed their god complex personalities and realise that, yes, Karma can be a very ugly thing if they continue on the path they have chosen.

Well Tracy I feel your disappointment but snide laughter at other people's failure, tsk tsk!! Dont lower yourself, its sad though that their personalities (or there lack of) have turned your group off a place you obviously all enjoyed. Not good.

Freshair, how rude that they said that about "Westies", where exactly are these people from? They seem a tad obnoxious dont they? Oh well karma is a bitch! Dont they realise people are giving them a fair go so why dont they reciprocate the same respect.
